Voices of Louisiana Scholarships
The Voices Foundation provides scholarship awards to eligible recipients.
These annual rewards are funded through donations and fund raising projects. Voices Foundation scholarships include memorial scholarships, as well as other scholarships. The “Serving St. Bernard” history/cookbook project funds a culinary arts scholarship. Shine Productions has been a major contributor to the Voices Scholarship Funds, through monies designated during Shine’s productions. Donations to the scholarships are tax deductible.
In order to promote educational advancement, these awards are given to students who have shown continued public interest in the arts and are seeking attendance at a college or other educational institute in art, design, music, drama or culinary arts. The recipients are chosen by the board members of The Voices Foundation and must meet the proper criteria, and seek to continue an education in the arts.
Some of our scholarships are awarded in memory of two beloved friends. Milton Sand was a graduate of Chalmette High School; priority for awards in his name will go to art students in St. Bernard Parish. For the scholarship in honor Rita Stockstill O’Sullivan , a dramatic arts teacher in St. Tammany, priority is given to St. Tammany High School residents, or those residents with a history of St. Bernard parish schooling.
